A Celebration of Family, Heritage & Joy: Victoria & Demetri’s Wedding

For this feature, we’re highlighting a wedding that beautifully wove together two cultures, generations of family, and deeply personal details. Victoria Royds and Demetri Frangos celebrated their love with a heartfelt Greek Orthodox ceremony followed by a joyful reception that brought everyone onto the dance floor.

Their Journey Together

Victoria and Demetri’s wedding was a true celebration of family and heritage. Demetri’s roots in Ikaria, Greece, played a meaningful role throughout the day. The summer before their wedding, the couple traveled to Ikaria together to spend time with his family—an experience that deepened their connection. Victoria’s American family joined in fully, embracing the traditions and dancing right alongside Demetri’s side.

The Wedding Day

The day began at the DoubleTree in Mount Laurel, where Victoria shared a first look with her dad before seeing Demetri for their own private first look. So many of the smaller details carried personal meaning. Victoria’s mother handmade her bouquet—one of the most special elements of the entire wedding. She also incorporated her grandparents’ wedding ring and special jewelry from Demetri’s mother. Demetri wore an heirloom watch and a suit customized with their wedding date inside.

They were married at Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, where the ceremony included traditional Greek Orthodox elements: the exchanging of rings, the common cup, the crowning ceremony, and walking around the altar together. These rituals grounded the day in faith and family history.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued at The Merion. Following dinner, speeches, and traditional dances, the night turned into an incredible party. Live music from Sergiani Greek Music Band filled the room alongside contemporary tracks, and the dance floor stayed packed as both Greek and American family and friends joined in the fun.

A Lesson in Love

When asked what they learned from planning their wedding, Victoria shared a simple but true observation: “Email is still such a strong form of communication even in 2026!” Their day came together with the help of a dedicated team, including full planning by Kim Smith of Tied Together Weddings. Photographer Kayla Aspen stood out as a favorite—Victoria noted that Kayla made her feel like they were friends the whole day while capturing the most beautiful moments.
