VOWS THAT WOW | Dr. Heather Chelton & Kinjal Patel

A Beautiful Blend of Cultures: Dr. Heather & Kinjal’s Unforgettable Wedding Weekend

Month after month, our team receives and showcases stunning weddings from across the region, all courtesy of incredibly talented vendors and wonderful couples who share their special day with us. Each month, our editorial team selects one standout celebration to highlight—one that captures both beauty and meaning in a truly unforgettable way.

For this feature, we’re highlighting a heartfelt multi-cultural celebration filled with love, tradition, and joy. Dr. Heather Chelton and Kinjal Patel honored both their Jewish American and Hindu-Gujarati heritages with two beautiful ceremonies, creating a wedding weekend that was deeply personal, culturally rich, and truly magical at Lucien’s Manor in Berlin, NJ.

Their Journey Together

Heather and Kinjal’s relationship has always been grounded in mutual respect, open communication, and a shared sense of adventure. Their connection grew through meaningful conversations, support during life’s challenges, and the joy of discovering how beautifully their worlds could come together. Their wedding weekend was the perfect celebration of that union — not just of two people, but of two families, two cultures, and two beautiful traditions.

The Wedding Weekend

Over a memorable weekend at Lucien’s Manor, Heather and Kinjal celebrated with both a Jewish American ceremony and a vibrant Hindi-Gujarati ceremony. The thoughtfully designed chuppah and mandap framed each religious service, creating sacred and stunning backdrops for their vows. Guests experienced the best of both worlds — from the emotional depth of the Jewish traditions to the energetic joy of the Indian baraat, where Kinjal made a grand entrance on horseback in traditional attire.

The fusion continued with meaningful cultural dances, incredible food, and heartfelt moments that brought everyone together. Heather and Kinjal’s self-choreographed first dance during the Jewish celebration left guests in awe, while the vibrant energy of the Indian wedding kept the dance floor alive all night.

Every detail was intentional and elevated by their incredible vendor team — from the stunning florals by Anthony & Sage Floral Design to the custom sweets by Platinum House of Sweets, and the seamless entertainment by DNA Events. The couple’s photographers and content creators captured the magic perfectly, turning high-stress moments into calm, joyful memories.

A Lesson in Love

Through the planning process, Heather and Kinjal learned that wedding planning is excellent practice for marriage. It taught them the importance of communication, collaboration, compromise, and staying grounded under pressure. Most importantly, they discovered that a perfect wedding doesn’t exist — what matters is celebrating their love and the joining of their families in respect, joy, and unity.

Heather & Kinjal’s Favorite Moments

“For our Indian wedding, watching my husband ride into his baraat on a horse dressed in traditional Indian attire was such an iconic moment. For our Jewish American wedding, our first dance was truly one for the books. We choreographed it ourselves… those practice sessions became one of our biggest stress relievers.” — Dr. Heather Chelton & Kinjal Patel

Dr. Heather and Kinjal’s wedding weekend was a beautiful reminder that the most meaningful celebrations go beyond details — they honor love, heritage, and the beginning of a shared life. Their story is one of intentional blending, deep respect, and pure joy.
